Pulling Up

Olivia has started pulling up pretty consistently over the past few days. She likes pulling up on her little activity table, the coffee table, and a cardboard box that we had. In fact, after she pulled up to a standing position on the box yesterday, she climbed all the way up onto it... such a daredevil! Ha! Below is a video of her pulling up. She's gotten better at it since then. We are leaving now for the airport. Olivia and I are flying to Memphis and will return next Saturday. Have a great week!

8 months old

Olivia turned 8 months old on Tuesday. What is she up to now?

- She wears 12 month clothes.
- She is in a size 4 diaper.
- She still sleeps about 11 hours at night (7:30pm-6:30 or 7:00am).
- She has started taking 2 decent naps. The first one is usually 2 hours after she wakes up and the second is after lunch. Sometimes she will have another short one just before dinner.
- It takes her a lot longer to go to sleep now. She just lays in her crib and "talks" until she falls asleep.
- She is crawling everywhere!
- She thinks it's funny when I crawl and she chases and catches me.
- When she thinks we aren't watching, she crawls straight for the dogs water bowls.
- She always wants to be on the floor playing.
- She gets so excited when Jon gets home everyday.
- She has started pulling up to a standing position.
- She has a 3rd tooth- one of her top ones.
- She says "Ma-Ma" all the time now. (Like Da-Da last month, I don't think she knows what it means yet).
- She is still an excellent eater and likes everything we've given her. She has had most fruits and vegetables, pasta, yogurt, mum-mums, and puffs. She gets really excited when I give her puffs or mum-mums! :)
- She loves music and will bounce when I turn it on.
- Her favorite toys are her singing duck, singing book, and stackable blocks. Oh, and her absolute favorite is the activity table that Aunt Jenny gave her for Christmas!
- She loves "Pat-A-Cake" and claps her hands when I sing it (most of the time).
- She LOVES the dogs! She crawls over to them and puts her head against them, and "pets" them. Luckily, they are good sports because her "pets" are really just pulling hair!

She is still such a happy baby, and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to stay home with her and watch her grow and learn every day!

SAHM- Week 1

Well, Olivia and I survived our first week of being home together and we had a great time! We spent Monday and Tuesday just playing and running errands. We went to a playgroup on Wednesday at a house in our neighborhood. (I found it online, much to my mom's dismay! Ha!) There were 5 moms and kids there. All of the babies were between 8 months and 1 year, so it was perfect! I think it is going to become a weekly meetup that we will continue going to. On Thursday, we had lunch with some friends. We were planning on going to another playgroup that afternoon, but Olivia fell asleep, and I don't wake her up for anything! :)

One of her top teeth is now in, and she still puts EVERYTHING in her mouth! This week, she has started clapping, especially when I sing "Pat A Cake". I tried getting it on video, but I didn't get a good clip. I'll keep trying. She is crawling all over the place and into everything. It's definitely a full-time job keeping up with her!

Olivia and I are flying back to Arkansas on Saturday to visit friends and family. We'll be gone a week. Jon will be busy finishing up a training class at work. I'll try to update before we leave. In the meantime, here are a few photos from our week.

It looks like she's praying in this picture:

Happy Birthday, Jon!

We have had another great weekend. Saturday was Jon's birthday. It was pretty low key. He kept Olivia for a couple of hours in the morning while I went to Target. When I got home, he opened his gifts and then we all took about a 2 hour nap. (That was probably his favorite gift! Ha!) That night, the 3 of us went to Outback for dinner. Happy Birthday, Jon!! Thank you for all that you do for Olivia and I. We love you more than you'll ever know!

Today, we took one of Olivia's babysitters and her daughter to breakfast to thank her for taking such great care of Olivia over the past few months. I forgot to take my camera, so I don't have any pictures.

Olivia has been crawling all over the place today. She started pulling up to her knees a couple of days ago, and tonight she pulled up onto her feet for the first time. She didn't stand up straight, but she definitely had all of her weight on her feet. I'm sure it's only a matter of time until she'll be pulling up and cruising along the furniture. (Oh, and because I keep forgetting to mention it... She has completely given up the pacifier. She hasn't had it at all in a month!)

Here are some pictures from the weekend:

I hope you all have a great week!

Quick Update

Sorry for the lack of posts this week... I've just been busy finishing up my last week of work. (Yippee!) As I mentioned before, Olivia is crawling all over the place now. Tonight, for the first time, she crawled over to Jon as soon as he walked in the door from work. Not that she didn't already have him wrapped around her finger, but she definitely scored some brownie points tonight! :)

New Year, New Job

I gave my 2 week notice at my job on Monday. I was offered another position that I couldn't pass up. I'm taking a BIG pay cut, the hours won't be near as flexible, and it will be a LOT more demanding, but getting to be a stay-at-home mom to this little girl will make it all worth it!

That's right... as of next Friday, I will be home with Olivia full time. I am so thankful to Jon, who works so hard that I am able to do this. I know it will be a lot of work, but I also know that it will be the most rewarding thing I could ever do!

And, by the way, she is crawling everywhere now (going forward!) :)
